Untitled, from What We Choose Not to See by Naïma El Kadi

Untitled, from What We Choose Not to See by Naïma El Kadi
Naïma El Kadi is a Moroccan-born photographer based in Antwerp whose analogue and polaroid works explore the hidden traces of pollution in former landfill landscapes across Flanders, Belgium. Using contaminated water collected from these sites to develop her photographs, El Kadi allows chemical residues to physically alter the image surface, making pollution part of the photographic process itself.
