The ongoing philosophy of Elliott Gallery is to continue to introduce a diversity of world renowned, critically acclaimed photographers from the international photography community.

Elliott Gallery is a leading European fine art photography gallery, established in 2003 and based in Amsterdam. Founded as Gallery Vassie, the gallery has built an international reputation for representing world-renowned and critically acclaimed photographers from across the global photography community.

The gallery holds a diverse collection of fine art photography spanning the early 20th century to contemporary practice. Our programme includes historically significant and established photographic artists whose work has been exhibited internationally and is held in museum, corporate, and private collections worldwide.

Alongside our exhibition programme, Elliott Gallery offers a by-appointment Print Room, where collectors, photography professionals, and enthusiasts can view and explore works from our collection in a focused, personal setting.

Our clients reflect the breadth of the work we present and include public and private museums, corporate collections, established collectors, and individuals beginning or developing their photography collections. We work closely with each client to provide informed guidance shaped by over two decades of experience in the fine art photography market.

Located in the Tussen de Bogen (“Between the Arches”) space in the heart of Amsterdam, the gallery was designed by architect Amy Ingrassia, whose work includes bespoke architectural solutions for internationally recognised brands.

Our Team

Addie Elliott

Founder & Curatorial Director

Drawing on almost three decades in the world of fine art photography, Addie is one of Europe’s leading experts — and, increasingly, one of the most sought-after advisers to photographers themselves. Few people have a broader view of the global photography market, spanning both sides of it: placing work with collectors and institutions, and helping photographers develop sustainable careers that allow that work to reach a wider audience.

Addie holds a degree in History of Design and the Visual Arts, majoring in the History of Photography. She began her career as a curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, before running a commercial photography gallery in Notting Hill and later working at The Photographers' Gallery, London. In 2003 she relocated to Amsterdam and founded Elliott Gallery (originally Gallery Vassie) — the city's first commercial photography gallery of its kind, and now a leading authority in the European fine art and documentary photography scene.

Through Elliott Gallery Addie represents 30 influential photographers and has produced over 80 exhibitions, both at the gallery in Amsterdam and at institutions including Huis Marseille, Foam, Paris Photo, and for the British Arts Council in Arles.

Beyond the gallery, Addie works directly with photographers as a Consultant, Mentor and Editorial Adviser — helping them raise their profile, sharpen their trajectory, and get their work in front of the right people.

This includes: Career strategy; Editorial direction for photo-books; Curatorial services with institution and partner liaison; Ongoing Mentorship and Support for photographers who want a trusted adviser at each stage of their career.

Her editorial work includes Burnthouse Lane by Michelle Sank (2024), This Time Tomorrow by David van Dartel (2021), Saddleworth: Responding to a Landscape by Matthew Murray (2017), Ska by Matthew Murray (2013), and From the Hip: The Photographs of John 'Hoppy' Hopkins (2007).

Eszti Bakos

Gallery Manager

Growing up in Budapest, Hungary, Eszti studied Art Theory and English Literature at Eötvös Loránd University and Utrecht University. After relocating to the Netherlands, she earned an MA in Arts Policy and Management from the University of Groningen.

In 2024, she joined Elliott Gallery as Projects Coordinator and later advanced to the role of Gallery Manager. In this position, she oversees the curation and management of exhibitions, the development and implementation of marketing and business strategies, and the cultivation of artist and client relationships. She is also responsible for the gallery’s travelling exhibitions programme and art sourcing services.

Luiza Boiteux

Gallery Assistant

Born in Brasília, Brazil, Luiza moved to the Netherlands to pursue a Liberal Arts and Sciences degree at University College Utrecht. Initially focused on Neuroscience, she discovered her passion for Art History and Museum Studies after taking an introductory course, eventually majoring in both. 

After completing her studies, Luiza joined Elliott Gallery first as an intern and later as a Gallery Assistant. In her current role, her responsibility is to support the gallery’s daily operations, handling everything from shipping and inventory to writing and digital content. 

Eirini Alexandrou

Associate Consultant

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, Eirini studied Archaeology and History of Art at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Florence, later completing an MA in Art Law and Arts Management.

After relocating to Amsterdam in 2019, Eirini joined the Elliott Gallery team. Starting as an intern, she advanced to the role of Social Media and Traveling Exhibitions Coordinator. Eventually, she held the position of the Gallery Manager from 2021-2024, focusing on implementing marketing, branding and business development strategies, expanding the gallery’s external network and regulating the team of interns.

Eirini is now in charge of Special Projects, such as the Open Call for Exhibition Proposals. In this capacity, she brings her extensive experience in arts management and her keen organisational skills to oversee diverse projects, ensuring their successful execution from conception to completion.
