Michelle Sank’s Ballade at Het Zuid-Afrikahuis

Michelle Sank’s striking photographic series Ballade is now on view at Het Zuid-Afrikahuis in Amsterdam, where it will run from 22 May to 22 July 2025.

The exhibition opened with a captivating artist talk and tour led by Sank herself — a powerful opportunity to hear firsthand about the individuals and stories behind the series, and to reflect on the significance of presenting it in such a meaningful venue.

We’re delighted to see Ballade continue its journey at the fabulous Het Zuid-Afrikahuis. Known for its dedication to South African heritage, the venue offers a fitting and moving backdrop for Sank’s work, inviting viewers to engage with contemporary photography through the layers of history and place.
