Naïma El Kadi

What We Choose Not to See

Naima El Kadi (b. 1980, Morocco) is an Antwerp-based photographer whose work explores former landfill sites and hidden environmental histories in Belgium. Working with analogue photography and polaroids developed in polluted water collected from these locations, she creates images physically marked by chemical residues from the landscape itself. Her practice combines environmental research, material experimentation, and quiet visual storytelling.

Limited edition and unique Polaroid prints available from Elliott Gallery.

Naïma El Kadi is a Moroccan-born photographer based in Antwerp whose analogue and polaroid works explore the hidden traces of pollution in former landfill landscapes across Flanders, Belgium.
