André de Dienes
André de Dienes (1913–1985) was an American-Hungarian photographer best known for his iconic photographs of Marilyn Monroe. A pioneering figure in 20th century photography, de Dienes built a career spanning fashion, celebrity portraiture, nude studies and experimental darkroom techniques.
After beginning his career in Paris in the 1930s, de Dienes moved to New York and later California, where he developed his distinctive photographic style. His decade-long collaboration with a young Marilyn Monroe produced some of the most intimate and enduring images of the actress — from her early years as Norma Jeane Baker to her rise as a Hollywood icon.
