Iris Maria Tusa
Iris Maria Tușa is a Romanian photographer whose work explores memory, identity, and the collective experience of place. Trained as a biologist and Antarctic researcher, Tușa combines scientific observation with an intimate, artistic eye, producing photographs that sit between documentary and imaginative interpretation.
Her series Thresholds (2024) and Childhood Memories (2017–2023) reflect her childhood in rural Dobrogea, reimagining familiar landscapes as spaces of transition between memory and imagination. Through her tranquil and layered imagery, Tușa captures both personal and shared experiences, examining how memory, place, and identity intersect.
