In the article ‘Haunting photos capture the secrets of Oscar Niemeyer’s Brasilia ghost house’, published by Wallpaper, the photographer Jason Oddy tells us about his series ‘Imagem Secundària (Ghost House)’.

Technology, it is commonly held, is a marker of progress.  But what if technology also looks backwards?  What if it also gives rise to ghosts?

In his new series Imagem Secundària (Ghost house), Jason Oddy investigates the Brasilia home of legendary modernist architect Oscar Niemeyer.  A home that by the time Oddy showed up had been shuttered for twenty years.

Imagem Secundària – a Portuguese term for ghost – uses that most persistent of secondary images, the photograph, to hunt down the spectral.  In a departure from his normal style, Oddy has produced a body of work that is at once startling and mysterious.
