David Corio has photographed some of the world’s most influential and iconic musicians, from Hip-Hop to Punk Rock. His brilliant images range from powerful concert shots to intimate portraits for NME, The Face, New York Times, Rolling Stone and more - and over 500 record sleeves!
In The Black Chord, David focuses on black musicians with often hilarious insights from shoots with Nina Simone, James Brown and more.
Retelling David’s anecdotes will guarantee your success at parties!
James Brown, Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK, 1985
“Mr Brown’s hair had just been coiffed - yet again. He looked at me, then at his watch and said ‘Go!', holding a red rose up to his face. He was giving me exactly sixty seconds! After a couple of frames, I persuaded him to lower the rose and remove his sunglasses, and I got just one frame before I was escorted out of the room by one of his security team”.
Save the date and join us for a drink! Don’t forget to RSVP and confirm your attendance.
