Elliott Gallery x Republiek: Indifferent West by Daniel Mirer

Elliott Gallery collaborated with the chic home interior, fashion and food store Republiek—newly opened around the corner from the Gallery—presenting the Indifferent West series by the fabulous Daniel Mirer in the industrial looking fine art gallery space that is attached to the store.

In Indifferent West, Daniel Mirer investigates today's Western American landscape. Through this project he investigates, explores and discovers sentimental representations of the mythic American Frontier.

In these photographs Mirer records tourist sites, familiar and clichéd places creating picturesque images of an 'Americana' landscape. Places that echo America's West with contemporary American Western ideals. It is here through vast blue skies and the baked arid terracotta of the land that Mirer captures the romantic, but decaying myth of this romantic landscape.

Republiek was founded by Tjarda Wessels and creates a space for art, fashion and food with stories of craftsmen, collaboration. Shared love of authentic items to be truly enjoyed for life.

The Indifferent West exhibition is on display until the end of the month at Republiek, Haarlemmerdijk 87, Amsterdam.
